NEWS; Leeds United approach for Bobby Clark transfer at Liverpool denied

The online source reported [11 August] that Leeds face competition from Championship rivals Norwich City and Sheffield United for the 19-year-old midfielder.

It is understood, however, that RB Salzburg are closing in a deal for the Liverpool gem this summer, with both parties discussing loan and permanent options.

Leeds United to sign Bobby Clark on loan?

While Clark would be a very exciting loan signing for the Whites, it appears that the Austrian side RB Salzburg are leading the race for his signature.

The 19-year-old has made just 14 first-team appearances for the Reds since being promoted from the club’s youth sides, so the youngster is likely searching for a new challenge.

Despite limited experiences with the Reds, Clark was handed his Premier League and Europa League debuts by Jurgen Klopp last season, showing the belief in his abilities at Anfield.

At his age, he must be on the lookout for regular football and Elland Road could be the perfect place for his development. It could be a much more comfortable move for him than moving out to Europe.

Daniel Farke has shown no issues when trusting the younger generation in the Leeds team, with 18-year-old Archie Gray playing 54 matches in all competitions last season.

Charlie Crew, 18, is the latest young star to break into Farke’s squad, taking up a spot on the bench for Leeds’ 3-3 draw with Portsmouth on Saturday 10 August, though he has yet to make his full debut.

Clark will likely get the valuable minutes that he and Liverpool are desiring ahead of next season, but the Whites will need to act quickly if they are to secure the player’s signature.

Fans at Elland Road will certainly be crossing their fingers that a deal can be completed this summer.
