REPORT;Leeds United has provided a glimpse of the new Smiley badge

The Whites are gearing up for the start of pre-season next week where Daniel Farke will have his mind focused on pushing for a third league title in the second tier.

As the season creeps closer, the fixtures have been confirmed for Leeds this morning, and a few jump out right away.

The first clash of Leeds’ 24/25 season comes at Elland Road once again, and they have the privilege of welcoming back Portsmouth to the Championship, 12 years since their last clash with the South Coast side.

John Mousinho’s men romped to the League One title and face one of the league title favorites on matchday one to kickstart a tough opening run for Leeds, followed by trips to West Brom and Sheffield Wednesday, before hosting Hull City to cap off August:

Leeds’ season is complete with a long trip down to Plymouth Argyle, with other notable fixtures in the calendar coming through a Boxing Day clash at Stoke City, before hosting Blackburn Rovers on New Year’s Day.

The Athletic shared recently that the club is looking at having one of their kits for next season pay homage to the 1970s with the iconic ‘Smiley’ badge design in place of the current one.

Now, it looks as though the club has soft-launched the idea with the graphic for the fixtures having the badge tucked in the top left corner:

Last season, all of the promo graphics had peacock designs and it was then a heavy part of the kit designs, and the Smiley looks to be up next.

We’ve already seen reports of that being the case and this looks like a textbook soft launch of that concept amongst the fans.

This kit could end up being an all-time best-seller if they stick the landing with this design, as the badge itself is something virtually every fan loves.
