Latest Update;Leeds United: Farke Drops Byram, Hints at Firpo Contract

Leeds United faced a lack of full-back depth over the summer, with Luke Ayling, Cody Drameh, Archie Gray, and Rasmus Kristensen in contention for regular starts. However, the arrivals of Jayden Bogle and Isaac Schmidt as right-back options could reduce Sam Byram’s game time this season.

Both Byram and Firpo are out of contract next summer, meaning they could sign pre-contract agreements with overseas clubs in January if new deals aren’t agreed upon. Firpo has expressed openness to a return to Spain but is currently interested in staying at Leeds. Byram may follow suit.

Daniel Farke’s Contract Update on Byram and Firpo: Farke admitted he hasn’t focused on their contract situations yet but emphasized the club’s interest in keeping both players and engaging in talks.

He said: “I haven’t thought much about it so far, given the tough summer we had, but we’ll address it in time. You know how much I value Junior and Sam, and how crucial they are, both on the field and in terms of personality. Junior, especially in our last game against Burnley, played really well after a long travel.”
