Minnesota United FC has announced a contract extension for veteran defender Michael Boxall, ensuring his presence with the team until at least 2025. The new deal includes a club option for the 2026 season, further solidifying Boxall’s role within the organization.

At 36 years old, Boxall has become an integral part of the Loons since joining as a member of the inaugural squad in 2017. His tenure with the team has been marked by exceptional performance; he currently holds the record for the most appearances in club history, boasting 230 matches, all of which he started. Over his time with Minnesota, he has accumulated more than 20,500 minutes of play, showcasing his durability and commitment to the team.

“I’ve had an incredible time in Minnesota and I’m excited to extend my stay and continue to call Allianz Field my home,” Boxall expressed. “There isn’t a better group of supporters to play for.
