JUST IN; Lewis Hamilton Designs First Capsule Collection With Dior Seemore……

Regarded as one of the best F1 drivers of all time, not to mentioned the best dressed too, the aligning with Dior seemed a natural move for Lewis Hamilton. And now, the seven-time Formula 1 World Champion and Dior Ambassador has joined forced with Artistic Director of Dior Men, Kim Jones, to offer a lifestyle capsule collection. Of course, there’s an accompanying campaign, captured by Rafael Pavarotti, where Hamilton is front and center sporting his threads, and a newly released behind the scenes film that shows the making of the collection.
As you’d expect agility, exhilaration, and innovation come into play as the line is dedicated to winter sports—namely skiing and snowboarding—complete with a couture spirit and Hamilton’s signature polished streetwear aesthetic. It also channels a zest for life, with a color palette to match with bright blues, oranges, and pink that are tempered with cool, classic, muted tones.

Historically, contemporarily and personally poignant, the line draws inspiration from Lewis’ African roots, Lewis shares, “Focusing on conscious choices and pushing boundaries with each piece, while merging inspiration from my roots in Africa—drawing from their fabrics and belief in natural materials, as well as vibrant colors and powerful energy—has been so inspiring. I hope people everywhere feel good in these garments we designed so carefully.”

Seconding this, on the influence of Africa and the production, Kim Jones says, “We share a love of nature, a desire to celebrate Africa and an interest in the artisanal processes and techniques that unite craftspeople in Africa with the savoir-faire of the Dior ateliers. Added to that, this collection also reflects Lewis’ sporting side, his virtuosity and our functionality. All in all, the way things came together happened very organically – and enjoyably!”
