NEWS; AC Milan Join Inter & Napoli In The Race For Mario Hermoso.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, via FCInterNews. He reports that the Rossoneri have made contact with the Spaniard’s representatives.

Hermoso’s name is certainly one of the big ones remaining available on a free transfer.

The 29-year-old’s contract with Atletico Madrid ran out at the end of last month.

There have been a number of clubs pursuing Hermoso. Premier League sides Aston Villa and West Ham United had been among these.

And not surprisingly, Inter have also shown an interest in signing Hermoso.

Free transfer signings are a pillar of the Nerazzurri’s transfer strategy under President and CEO Beppe Marotta.

That is the route via which all of Hakan Calhanoglu, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Andre Onana, and Marcus Thuram arrived at the Nerazzurri.

Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski followed them this summer.

And Hermoso could be a third big name free transfer signing of the summer transfer window.

Moreover, Inter are specifically in search of a left-sided defender. This would be to allow Carlos Augusto to play exclusively on the left flank whilst wingback Tajon Buchanan is absent.

Inter have been considering Hermoso as a target, but seemed to have decided to go a different route.

The Nerazzurri had seemed to be on the verge of a move to sign defender Juan Cabal from Hellas Verona.

Therefore, it would not be as though the Nerazzurri would have signed yet another player for the role.

However, Inter are set to miss out on Cabal. Juventus are now on the verge of signing the Colombian.

Therefore, Inter are back to looking for a left-sided defender.

And another club still keen to sign a left-sided defender are Napoli. They want to sign one more defender for coach Antonio Conte, and Hermoso is certainly on their radar.

However, the Nerazzurri and the Partenopei are not the only two teams to show an interest in Hermoso, reports Di Marzio.

The Sky transfer expert reports that Milan have also made contacts with the 29-year-old defender’s representatives.
