JUST IN; 49ers Game Looks Tougher Now as 3 key players injured

Joe believed, after watching the Chiefs-49ers game last week, that the once mighty 49ers, who the Bucs play in two weeks, were vulnerable.

San Francisco has been riddled by injuries, and not just to their receivers. So Joe was starting to like the Bucs chances of pulling a surprise win.

That is, until Mike Evans and Chris Godwin went down on Monday night.

Still, Joe had hope. The 49ers would have to play a morning game against the Bucs. West Coast teams generally don’t play all that sharp on the East Coast. Body clocks. A 1 p.m. kickoff on the East Coast is 10 a.m. their time.

Then again, the 49ers will be coming off a bye when they face the Bucs. Fresh. Rested. And apparently now, healthier.

Christian McCaffrey, the star running back for San Francisco, who hasn’t played yet this season because he has been dealing with Achilles issues, has been targeted by the team to return in Week 10, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

That happens to be the 49ers’ first game after their bye.

Yup, against the Bucs.

And the way the linebacker play has been for the Bucs lately. Geez, what a matchup.

And sorry, until Joe sees marked linebacker improvement quickly, Joe is nowhere near as confident as Kacy Rodgers.
