NEWS;Luis Palma’s and Brendan Rodgers’ classy touch towards Honduran legend

Off the park, we discussed how Celtic are set to earn a small fortune from their trip to the States as the club reaches out to their fans across the pond.

Celtic have also extended their charitable arm on two occasions as well as making a high-profile visit to the White House.

However, on the park is where it really counts and Brendan Rodgers has already overseen two good results over DC United and Manchester City as he puts this Celtic team through their pre-season paces.

As Celtic move on to their next stage of the US Tour, Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea await the Bhoys in Indiana and Rodgers will be hoping to replicate the performance the team produced against Man City.

But before that, Rodgers was introduced to Honduran international legend, Amado Guevara, by Luis Palma as the Celtic winger caught up with an old friend on the tour.

In a video posted on Deportes TVC, you can watch Palma explain to the Celtic boss how highly regarded the 138-capped former Honduran international is held in his homeland as Rodgers calls Guevara a ‘legend’ in Spanish.

Geuvera was clearly appreciative of the gesture by the Celtic manager and asked if Rodgers was fluent in the Spanish tongue to which Rodgers humbly said no.

It was a nice exchange and a great show of respect by Rodgers to not only Geuvera but also to Palma as the Celtic manager embraced one of the Hoops winger’s heroes.

The US Tour is certainly proving to be a busy and productive one for Celtic as the club enhances its reputation on the continent and beyond over the last two weeks.
