Monday Night Countdown Crew Helps Couple Do Live Gender Reveal Before Ravens-Chargers Game

The crew of Monday Night Countdown helped out a pair of Baltimore Ravens fans by revealing the gender of the couple’s baby on live TV.

Before the Monday Night Football game between the Ravens and the Los Angeles Chargers, Countdown host Scott Van Pelt pointed to a couple in the stands holding a pair of signs that read, “Tell us if it’s a boy or girl,” and, “We’re pregnant with the next Ravens fan.” Van Pelt then revealed that he was given an envelope with the baby’s gender.

“They have given us the reveal,” Van Pelt said. “They don’t know what they’re having. I’ve never been this nervous on television. So, it’s on me to open this up.”

After coordinating the reveal with analysts Ryan Clark, Jason Kelce, and Marcus Spears, Van Pelt passed the envelope under the table to Clark. Clark did the same until everyone at the desk saw the gender.

Then, with a countdown from Spears, the four men exclaimed, “It’s a boy!”

The couple jumped up in celebration before bursting into tears.

“We’re bringing families together!” Van Pelt said as the couple continued celebrating in the stands. “It’s a Thanksgiving miracle!”

Spears then emphasized the reveal was completely unplanned and happened right then and there

For everybody at home, literally, this was not planned,” he said. “They were standing there with a sign and they wanted us to do a gender reveal; and we did it!
