BREAKING NEWS; Newcastle In a Race To make a £15m Deal

Newcastle United’s negotiations for Burnley keeper James Trafford are complicated by a sell on percentage owed to Manchester City.

The 21-year-old left Manchester City in 2023 after rising through the youth ranks at the Etihad Stadium before a £15million switch to the Clarets. Man City’s initial reluctance to sell Trafford resulted in a sell on clause which means Burnley are keen to ensure they get value for the potential sale.

After Burnley did not accept a £16million offer last week, Newcastle have been told to bid up for the England Under-21 stopper’s services.

The race to sign the Stuttgart ace is hotting up with a tempting £15million release clause certain to make the 37-goal hotshot a popular target this summer. Newcastle have ran the rule over the player but are not mentioned in the latest report in Bild who claim the 28-year-old is being hunted by Arsenal, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan.

Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeneß said at the end of last season: “I have no reason to think that he will play the last game for us. Nevertheless, I’m not naive enough to know that there are probably one or two interested parties. In the end, he has to let his gut feeling decide. We have to wait.

Newcastle were on the scouting list at Parkhead at the end of the season to look at Celtic star Matt O’Riley. The star has had a £33m valuation slapped on his shoulders after scoring 19 goals and making 18 assists this season.

Brendan Rodgers does not want to lose the 23-year-old Denmark international but interest in the player is increasing. A weekend report in Spanish outlet AS emerged suggesting that O’Riley is on Atletico Madrid’s wish-list

The Italian newspapers are suggesting that Newcastle have an interest in the Argentina international today. Musso, 30, is very much a back-up keeper for Atalanta but made 24 appearances last season.

Atalanta paid almost £20million for his services to sign him from Udinese three years ago and he has one year left on his current deal meaning he may not be cheap.
