The world’s No. 1 rated golfer, Scottie Scheffler, really showed why he’s such a skillful athlete on the course. With all the pressure on Scheffler in the playoff round of the Travelers Championship, he beat out Tom Kim and secured the PGA Tour victory. Scheffler spoke on battling with Kim after the event.
“Enjoyed being out there with you, great playing,” said Scheffler via Instagram.
Scheffler and Kim both shot 22-under in the initial rounds and wound up playing in the playoff, where Scheffler shot 5 on the hole and Kim shot 6.
There hasn’t been a golfer more dominant than Scheffler in years. He’s had six PGA Tour victories in the 2024 season before July 1st—a feat that has not happened since Arnold Palmer in the 1960s.
Scheffler and Kim have been known to have a tight relationship. Kim recently revealed that the two practice with each other, living in the same city, Dallas, Texas.
Despite the competitiveness, Scheffler shared his honest message about competing with one of his good friends, giving high praise to the South Korean native.
