According to Beren Cross for the outlet’s website on 13 July the Bournemouth midfielder’s loan signing has not paved the way for the former Rangers man to leave despite heavy speculation.
Rennes reportedly remain interested in a transfer for the 28-year-old Finn but have yet to make a bid.
Separately Leeds All Over report that sources have indicated any Kamara sale is expected to see the 49ers to target a direct replacement despite Rothwell’s presence.
Rothwell’s arrival looks like it could go the same way as the last Bournemouth loan signing in being cover as much as anything.
Jaidon Anthony came to Elland Road a year ago as Luis Sinisterra forced his way back to the Premier League at the 11th hour but the winger struggled to get past Crysencio Summerville, Dan James and Willy Gnonto ahead of him.

So it will likely come as a something of a relief that the 49ers intend to make further signings if first-team options leave, although the new season is rapidly approaching and there is plenty of transfer market work still to do as things stand.
