NEWS; Rangers offer rejected.

Rangers have included Joan Jordán in their target list, and Philippe Clement’s side have made an attempt to try and sign him this summer.

That’s according to Marca, who state the La Liga side have received an offer from Rangers for the 30-year-old.

It’s claimed Rangers’ proposal has been rejected because they wanted the Andalusian club to pay the majority of his salary. This indicates Philippe Clement’s side made an attempt to sign the midfielder on a loan deal.

The Spanish club want to get rid of him and are waiting for an offer that meets their requirements. Marca make no mention of the details, but Rangers clearly didn’t match those requests.

Over at Mundo Deportivo, they also say Rangers have made a loan offer for the Spaniard. He has three years left on his deal, but Sevilla sporting director Víctor Orta has publicly stated that his cycle at the club has come to an end.

Sevilla manager García Pimienta hasn’t included Jordán in his plans for next season. Rangers appear to have tried to take advantage of his situation, to sign him on a loan deal.

However, Sevilla have rejected the Scottish club’s offer as they didn’t want to take care of the midfielder’s full salary. Jordán, for his part, has turned down offers that have arrived so far, with the hope of convincing his manager during pre-season.

Sevilla are keen to part ways with the player. If Rangers were to return with an improved offer and also convince Jordán, they would be able to bring him to Ibrox. It needs to be seen whether they will make an extra effort.
