NEWS; Leicester has submitted a £10 million bid for a player

Cooper successfully secured Forest’s return to the Premier League after a 23-year hiatus, thereby bolstering his esteemed standing within the city. Presently, he has assumed the task of rejuvenating Leicester’s prospects. Evidently, Forest is poised to engage in a competitive pursuit with Leicester for the acquisition of a player..

The Foxes have taken the initiative ahead of Forest, making an initial move. As reported by Football Italia, Leicester has submitted a £10 million bid for the winger. Multiple Premier League teams have shown interest, with Forest being linked to Saelemaekers as recently as yesterday. The AC Milan player is set for a potential transfer this summer subsequent to an impressive loan spell with Bologna during the 2023/24 season.

The player transferred to the San Siro team from Anderlecht in 2020. The club is now seeking to recuperate the £10.9 million spent on the transfer. Forest is currently in the market for a new winger, and their attention has turned to Saelemaekers. The Belgian player will not be entering into a permanent contract with Bologna, and it appears that multiple clubs will be competing for his signature before the start of the season. While it may seem particular, it is crucial for Forest’s new winger to be left-footed.

The current composition of Forest’s roster includes Anthony Elanga and Callum Hudson-Odoi as viable options for the right-wing position; however, there is a notable absence of a proficient left-footed winger. It is evident that the acquisition of Saelemaekers would not remedy this deficiency, and it is imperative that the club promptly shifts its focus away from this potential transfer. While it may not be ideal to relinquish the opportunity for Leicester to secure the Belgian player, it is important to note that his output of seven goal contributions in the previous season does not indicate a substantial upgrade over Elanga or Hudson-Odoi. Therefore, it is our professional opinion that Forest should abstain from further pursuit of this particular transfer opportunity.
