Plenty are set to follow 59-time Finland star Kamara out of the door after his move to Rennes. Six players have now been sold after Archie Gray, Kris Klaesson, Marc Roca, Diego Llorente and Charlie Cresswell.
Junior Firpo could be next with Real Betis pushing, while Rasmus Kristensen’s move to Frankfurt looks more likely to be a loan with an option at this stage. Of course, Crysencio Summerville is still in-demand.
But one player that is now generating huge interest after a slow start to the summer is Italy star Wilfried Gnonto. Newcastle and Everton were linked this week, with Everton confident of a £22m deal for Gnonto.
The sheer amount of clubs looking to sign Gnonto has been made clear. A huge 10 clubs want Gnonto, with four from his home country keen as a move to Serie A looks inevitable at some point in his career.
Caught Offside say Cesc Fabregas’ newly-promoted Como are keen, as are Juventus, Napoli and Roma. The latter of course have a solid working relationship with Leeds, thanks to duo Llorente and Kristensen.
In the Premier League, six are interested. Nottingham Forest have already made a £16.9m bid, which is below Leeds’ valuation. Everton, Wolves, West Ham, Newcastle and Steve Cooper’s Leicester are keen.
It was always deemed inevitable that both Gnonto and Summerville would go and given the closeness of the duo, when one goes it is expected the other will depart. Both are attracting enormous interest.
Described as “excellent” by Daniel Farke, Gnonto is said to be rated at £25m as per the Caught Offside report and with 10 clubs interested, that is only going to help raise the price Leeds eventually receive.
If Leeds are planning on his exit then the next-best eventuality is a bidding war that sees his price go up and up. Anything in the region of £25m should be seriously considered by The 49ers this summer.
