BREAKING;Leeds United send out disgraceful email to their most loyal fans

X user Alexjl30 posted on the social media site that he’d been sent an email by the club as one of their 265 ‘Super Away Attendees’, but the only reward for his loyalty was a steep increase in away ticket prices.

Away season tickets for fans will now cost an eye-watering £850 for adults, a huge £181 more than the previous season’s total of £669, despite the club still being in the same division.

The user in question highlighted the fact that he’d attended over 80 per cent of away matches from 2015 to 2020, as was stated in the email, but could now lose that loyalty if he doesn’t pay the new £850 price.

The saying goes that ‘Leeds would have taken more’, and comes from the near-weekly sight at grounds up and down the country with away ends packed to the rafters with United fans.

Following the Whites home and away on a weekly basis is something supporters of all ages want to do – hence the email includes pricing for under-16s and over-65s – but travel itself is already costly enough.

A £181 increase in pricing, despite the Whites having not achieved their primary goal of promotion, is not the sign of a club prioritising fans, or one that wants as many supporters through the doors as possible.

Leeds United send out disgraceful email to their most loyal fans

Fans have already seen one of the club’s young prospects sold in Archie Gray’s switch to Tottenham Hotspur, while Red Bull buying a stake in the club risks further alienation given their track record.

Furthermore, the money brought in by those deals, with Gray moving for £40million and Red Bull coming on board in a record-breaking sponsorship deal, shows that money is far from tight at Elland Road.

Any similar moves in the coming weeks could create a poisonous atmosphere towards the club hierarchy, and that’s the last thing Daniel Farke’s side need as they look to get the new season off to a good start.
