NEWS;John Fleck to Rangers transfer return may already have answer as hunt for Joan Jordan

Free agent John Fleck is back with Rangers as he keeps up his fitness levels – and the Ibrox club may already know his answer over making his stay permanent.

The 32-year-old has been training at Auchenhowie as he considers his next move after an injury-plagued season with Blackburn Rovers – after a shin problem hampered his season at Ewood Park. The Scotland cap was let go at the end of his contract after just 17 minutes of football with the English Championship side – having impressed during an eight-year stint at Sheffield United which saw him seal three promotions and gain valuable Premier League experience.

Philippe Clement is on the look-out for a midfielder – but a move for Sevilla outcast Joan Jordan was brought to an end after Rangers pulled out of a loan switch for the 30-year-old. With Fleck in the building, a case could now be made for the Ibrox academy graduate to remain for the new Scottish Premiership campaign.

And Fleck has previously hinted that he would be open to the idea. During his time at Bramall Lane, he told Kris Boyd in a Sky Sports he said: “I’m very happy at Sheffield United. As long as that continues, then great. But if the chance came along down the line, then I would love it to be honest. I wouldn’t say I have unfinished business because I was a very small part of a successful team, back then.”

But with clubs north and south of the border reportedly considering a move, Fleck could yet be brought back to Blackburn. Rovers’ boss John Eustace has refused to close the door on a new deal.

Speaking to The Lancashire Telegraph about Fleck, he said: “I certainly haven’t moved on from that. I don’t know if he’s been speaking to the club. He hasn’t been training. There are a lot of players we’d like to bring in.

“We have to make sure we hit the right targets, the right players, the right targets. Flecky was very unfortunate with injuries last year. That’s something we have to look at to make sure we are recruiting the right players.”
