Update: Arizona Cardinals Could trade for Pro Bowl defensive back says…read more…

Philadelphia eagles defensive back James Bradberry has been one of the most consistent cornerbacks in the NFL since coming into the league in 2016. Over his career, he’s notched 19 interceptions, has well over 100 passes defended, and was a key part of the Eagles’ defensive backfield that helped spur a Super Bowl run in 2022. He’s made one Pro Bowl over his career, and was named Second-Team All-Pro once.

It’s been a stellar run for the cornerback, but his play in 2023 took a significant step back, and he’s made the late-career switch to safety for the Eagles currently. However, with the team’s youth movement in the defensive backfield, drafting both Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean in the 2024 NFL Draft, Bradberry’s days in Philadelphia might be numbered. That’s why CBS Sports’ NFL analyst Cody Benjamin believes the Eagles should try to trade him now, while he still has value. One team who could be interested? The Arizona Cardinals, according to Benjamin.

The Cardinals have had somewhat of a youth movement of their own recently, drafting Max Melton, Elijah Jones, and Dadrion Taylor-Demerson. They also still have one of the best safeties in the league in Budda Baker, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room to add Bradberry. Arizona still has a pretty thin cornerback group, even with the recent additions of Melton, Jones, and free agent Sean Murphy-Bunting.

Bradberry could bring a veteran presence and championship pedigree to a position group – either cornerback or safety – that could use his kind of leadership and guidance, not to mention being just one year removed from high-level play.
