JUST IN; “Dylan Crews to Make Unexpected MLB Debut for Washington Nationals—What Does This Mean for the Season?”

The year of the LSU Athletics program continues as the Washington Nationals are set to call Dylan Crews to the MLB just a year after he was selected in the MLB Draft. This year, the LSU Tigers have produced three first round picks in the NFL Draft, a WNBA first round pick, a few MLB Draft picks, Olympic Gold Medalists, and won the National Championship in Gymnastics.

Crews had an incredible career at LSU headlined by winning the National Championship in 2023. At LSU Crews was a two-time All-American, a two-time concensus Player of the Year, and he won the Golden Spikes Award in 2023. After his incredible career at LSU, the Washington Nationals selected him second overall in the MLB Draft one selection after Paul Skenes.

In 2023, Crews made a fast ascent up the Nationals system starting in rookie ball and finishing the season in Double-A. This year, Crews started again in AA and has spent 48 games in Triple A. In AAA, Crews is hitting .271 with 8 Home Runs, 30 RBIs, and ten stolen bases.

According to MLB Radio’s Grant Paulsen, Crews will be called up on monday alongside James Wood to make their MLB Debuts against the New York Yankees.
