Breaking News;”Jesse Marsch Has the Last Laugh Against His Former Leeds United Favorite”

Earlier this week, the first batch of Leeds United’s international players experienced varying levels of success. Following the latest round of weekend matches, each Whites player called up to represent their country has had their turn on the field.

International duty can often be underwhelming, but with one Leeds star facing a reunion against former boss Jesse Marsch, another player making a surprising appearance up front, and one nation reduced to 10 men, it’s fair to say the latest fixtures provided more intrigue than usual.

Let’s start with Junior Firpo and the Dominican Republic. Typically a left-back, the Leeds defender was unexpectedly positioned as a forward in their CONCACAF Nations League match against Bermuda.

However, for those Leeds fans eager to see how this experiment unfolded, it lasted just 10 minutes before Edarlyn Reyes was sent off, forcing Firpo back into his usual left-back role. Kane Crichlow put Bermuda in front, but the Dominican Republic made a remarkable comeback to win 3-2.

Dorny Romero equalized after half an hour, only for Reggie Lamb to restore Bermuda’s lead in the 51st minute. Heinz Morschel tied the game just after the hour mark, and Ronaldo Vasquez scored the winner in the 84th minute, sealing the victory for the 10-man side.

Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, Brenden Aaronson faced off against Jesse Marsch, the manager who signed him for Leeds United. Marsch, now at the helm of the Canadian national team, managed to outmaneuver his former player.

Aaronson, who has made a strong start to the season at Elland Road, played 77 minutes in the USMNT’s 2-1 loss to Canada. Jacob Shaffelburg and Jonathan David scored for Marsch’s side, who held a two-goal advantage until the final stages.

Elsewhere, the Leeds midfielder has been a regular fixture in Daniel Farke’s lineup this season and featured for the full 90 minutes in Bulgaria’s 0-0 draw with Belarus. The 24-year-old took up a deeper midfield role, similar to his position at Leeds.

Bulgaria was reduced to ten men after Filip Krastev was sent off in the 73rd minute but managed to hold on for a scoreless draw.
