The Chicago Sky are locked in a fierce battle with the Washington Mystics for the final spot in theWNBA Playoffs, both teams holding a 13-25 record. Unfortunately for the Sky, they’ve lost one of their standout players, Angel Reese, for the rest of the season after she underwent wrist surgery to repair a fracture. Despite her rookie season ending early, Reese put up impressive numbers (13.6 PPG, 13.1 RPG, 1.9 APG, 39.1 FG%).
Though she can’t take the court, Reese remains fully committed to her team. Rather than staying back in Chicago to focus on her recovery, she traveled with the Sky for their crucial road matchup against the Atlanta Dream, showing up to support her teammates.
Reese’s decision to stay with the team during their playoff push, even while sidelined, speaks volumes about her character. Her dedicated fanbase will no doubt appreciate her even more for being a supportive teammate during such a critical moment.
While she may not be contributing on the court, expect Reese to be an active presence on the sidelines, encouraging and motivating her teammates as they fight for a spot in the playoffs.
