According to Tuttosport (via FcInterNews) this morning, it is Inter that trying to gain a prominent position. The striker will not renew with Lille and the Nerazzurri have been thinking about a move for him for at least a couple of seasons.
There is strong competition, however, because in Italy there are Milan, Napoli, Juventus and Roma in the running, while Atletico Madrid and some English clubs are also keen. Inter are not giving up, and they have previously been able to attract free agents like Marcus Thuram and Mehdi Taremi.
David will turn 25 on January 14, meaning he is still a young profile that can grow further by perhaps making the leap to a better side. He has seven goals and two assists in 11 appearances for Lille this season so far across all competitions, while his overall record is 91 goals in 194 games for the French club.
From Milan’s point of view a lot will depend on the futures of Tammy Abraham and Luka Jovic, who are only guaranteed to be here until the end of the season given the former is on loan and the latter has an expiring deal.
