The Pittsburgh Steelers own an 8-2 record and currently have a 99% chance of making the playoffs. If the season ended today, Pittsburgh would enter the postseason as the No. 3 seed in the AFC, with only the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills ranked ahead of them. The Steelers turned heads in Week 11 after defeating AFC North rival the Baltimore Ravens 18-16. Baltimore’s offense had no answers for the Pittsburgh defense. Lamar Jackson only threw for 207 yards, a touchdown, and an interception while recording a lackluster 48.4% completion percentage. It was one of those ugly football games, as the Steelers’ offense didn’t get much going either. All 18 points came off of field goals, but thankfully, the defense kept the Ravens’ offense at bay. On Thursday, during a segment on ESPN’s “First Take,” former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky argued that Pittsburgh is not a Top 3 team in the AFC. Orlovsky was critical of the Steelers’ offense, claiming, “You’re not going to beat [Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes] kicking field goals.”
Watt’s not-so-subtle jab at the end of his post had sports fans in a frenzy. Orlovsky, who played in the NFL from 2005 to 2015, notoriously ran out of the back of his team’s own endzone during a game when he played for the Detroit Lions. The play resulted in a safety and a turnover.
Fans jumped in Watt’s comments reacting to his reaction to Orlovsky’s take. Some loved Watt’s comments while others pointed out that the Steelers offense is still an issue for Pittsburgh. “JJ adds to his sack total with this take,” said one sports fan. One individual explained, “One off is not something you want to hang your hat. They won last week, however that said more about the Ravens and not the Steelers. Love the Steelers however they are not a dynamic offense.” “This seems personal,” claimed former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel. Another fan stated, “Cooked Dan.” “Certainly not the ideal formula, but it’s a formula that has worked more than once,” said one Steelers fan.
